Destination Unknown

I sure hope Christian of Destination Unknown is simply taking a hiatus. I really enjoyed hearing about his zine, his game groups, and the different happenings. I know that when you are simply trying to have fun and share with like minded people and some purile, garbage mouthed yob who hides behind anonymity comes along and makes personal attacks sure can take the fun out of it. So, Christian, keep having fun and I hope at some point you'll be back on filling us in on the happenings in SoCal.

  1. I can't access older pages so it seems the blog may be gone. I'd love to know it's backed up and could return, or is just behind a limited access wall.

That said, each of us has to make up our own mind about how and when we move on, and for me the choice to delete everything and walk away should be ours to make. I can't help but respect the decision in the circumstances. The hurt being caused by the people in question seems to be for no purpose at all.

I hope christian does stick around and stay involved in the community. He's a stunningly generous person and his thoughts are always good to read.

  2. I'm hoping he just needs a bit of a breather, as well. It seems a bit of an impulsive act, so maybe he'll reconsider.

  3. Yeah, I really appreciated what he was doing. It is impulsive and I hope that he decides that it is better to just ignore the trolls. Certainly there are many folks out there that appreciated what he was doing.

  4. I'm gone from the Internet for not even a day, and when I get back, Christian is gone. What a bummer. I'm sorry to hear this.

  5. I left yourdungeonissuck a nice little comment. I really enjoyed Christians blog. One of my daily reads. I hope he decides to restore it.

  6. Only gone a moment and I miss him already. He was an early supporter of my own blog and all-around nice guy.

  7. Hopefully he'll cool off and come back. One of the things I really liked about Christian's posts was that he was always genuine and a friendly guy. There's enough jerks out there that losing a decent part of the gaming blogging community really sucks.

  9. Yes, I hope Christian comes back and is doing well in the interim.

  10. I think Porky said it quite well. It is his decision whether or not he'll just walk away. It is, after all, just about having fun. That said, he will be missed.

    @ R.W. Chandler:
I think starving the troll is a better idea. Instead of commenting, or even visiting his blog, just pretend it's not there. After all, shouting is only fun if you get attention -- any 3 y/o knows that.
